Modraly

Know what you drink: units, spend, calories

A private alcohol unit tracker for people who drink socially and want the numbers. No lectures, streaks, or sobriety plan. No account either.

Free to download. Logging is unlimited, always. Premium starts with a 7-day free trial inside the app.

Modraly home screen: daily units, favourites, and recent drinks on iPhone

For people who drink and would rather know.

Modraly counts what you drink. It does not coach you through stopping.

It's probably for you if:

  • You drink socially, somewhere between once and four times a week
  • You've genuinely no idea what that adds up to
  • You want units, spend and calories in one place, without advice
  • You'd like to see where you land against the official weekly guideline, and decide for yourself what to do with that

It's probably not the tool if:

  • You're looking for a recovery programme or a coach
  • You want accountability check-ins, community, or a sober streak counter
  • You need clinical support

Those are real needs and Modraly doesn't meet them. Try the NHS (UK), Alcool Info Service (FR) or NIAAA (US). We're not affiliated with any of them, and there's nothing in it for us if you go.

Three steps, then it stays out of the way.

  1. Log a drink screen with favourites and drink types

    01

    Log it in two taps

Save your regulars as favourites and a drink goes in from the Home Screen widget or the app in seconds. Sensible defaults, no forms.

  2. Week stats showing units, spend, calories, and weekly reference

    02

    See the week

Day, week and month views: units (or verres, or standard drinks, whichever is standard where you are), what you spent, roughly how many calories, and where the week sits against the official weekly guideline. Curious what one drink counts as? Work it out here, no install needed.

  3. Calendar month view with drink-free and over-limit days

    03

    Optional morning nudge

One reminder at 09:00 to log last night, if you want it. Off by default. It never tells you how you did.

What you get on iPhone.

  • Home Screen widgets

Add a drink without opening the app, and see the last seven days at a glance.

    Premium
  • Favourites

Your usual pint, your usual glass, your usual round. Logged in one tap.

  • Day, week, month, and custom ranges

Pick any date range and see the totals for it.

    Custom ranges: Premium
  • The weekly guideline, localised

UK units, verres in France, US standard drinks. Shown as a reference point, not a target or a limit. See the guidelines for each country.

  • Apple Health

Modraly writes your drinks to Health so they sit with the rest of your data. It never reads anything back.

  • CSV export

    Every entry, yours to take.

    Premium

There is no Modraly server.

  • No account. No email, no password, no sign-in. You open the app and it works.
  • Your data stays on your iPhone. We don't have it. We can't see it, sell it, lose it or hand it over, because there's nothing on our side to hand over.
  • It leaves when you decide. Export a CSV whenever you want. If your iPhone backs up to iCloud, that backup follows your own iOS settings, like every other app on your phone.

The app has no login screen because the data never leaves your phone.

Logging is free. It stays free.

Unlimited logging on free. Always.

Questions

Do I have to subscribe?

No. Logging drinks is unlimited on the free tier and always will be. Premium adds unlimited history, widgets, custom ranges and export.

How does the free trial work?

Start it in the app, on the annual plan. You get seven days. If you don't cancel before day seven ends, it becomes a paid year at £39.99 (or your local equivalent). Cancelling takes about four taps in your iPhone's Subscriptions settings, and you keep Premium until the trial's last day.

Is there a trial on the monthly plan?

No. Monthly is monthly. The trial is annual-only.

Where does my data go?

Nowhere. There's no account and no Modraly server. Everything lives in the app on your iPhone. Export it as CSV whenever you want.

Is this an app to help me stop drinking?

No. Modraly counts and shows. It doesn't set goals for you, doesn't run programmes, and doesn't have an opinion about your week. If you're after support to stop, the NHS, Alcool Info Service and NIAAA are better places to start.

Will it tell me I've had too much?

No. You'll see your number next to the official weekly guideline for your country. What that means is yours to decide.

Is there an Android version?

Not today. Modraly is iPhone-only and built natively for iOS. iOS 26 or later.

Does it estimate blood alcohol?

No, and it won't. Blood alcohol depends on things an app can't measure, and a wrong number is worse than no number.

Start with tonight.

Log one drink. It takes about ten seconds and costs nothing.
